Three prisoners were executed in the cities of Isfahan and Karaj
A man sentenced to death for drug related charges was hanged on Monday in Isfahan Central Prison, central Iran. The prisoner was identified as Kiomars Nasouhi from Kermanshah. “The Prosecutor had told his family that the execution would not be carried out and the family returned home with newfound hope,” an informed said.
“But the execution was carried out this morning at 5am,” the source added. The execution has still not been announced by state-run media.
On the same day a prisoner identified as Seyed Iman Hossein Moghaddam was hanged today in the courtyard of Rajaie Shahr Prison in Karaj. He was charged with carrying out a number of rapes and was sentenced to death for “corruption on earth.” The prisoner and his family had repeatedly denied the charges saying that the real reason behind the allegations were financial issues. Hosseini Moghadam was transferred to solitary on April 25 to await his execution along with three other people who were hanged on that day but Hosseini Moghadam’s sentence was postponed due to unknown reasons. State run media have not announced the execution of any of these prisoners.
In yet another case a prisoner was hanged in Saveh, according to the Chief Justice of the Province. He was found guilty of rape and murder. The state media did not elaborate the prisoner by name.
