The 5th Branch of the Tehran Court sentenced six young men to 99 lashes and five years behind bars, during a session held behind closed doors.
Iran’s police publicly paraded dozens of alleged theft suspects while they have not yet to be officially charged or taken to court.
Humiliating punishments and executions are aimed at spreading fear among the public.
Persons accused of various charges have been publicly humiliated by being paraded through the streets with a placard around their necks detailing their crime, an act in violation of human rights in Iran.
