Iran: Kurd citizens arrested for supporting Iraqi Kurdistan referendum
According to reports, intelligence agents detained a Kurd citizen at his place of work on September 26, and transferred him to an unknown location. He has been identified as Bakhtiar Khoshnam. He has a political science degree from Zanjan University.
According to other reports, following the success of Iraqi Kurdistan’s referendum, security forces in Mahabad arrested more than 30 people who were celebrating Kurdistan’s independence. The identity of three of the detainees are Ronak Aqaie, her brother Kavis Aqaie and her daughter, Sarveh Musazadeh.
In Piranshahr, authorities also arrested several citizens. Five of these people have been identified as Shuresh Ibrahimi, Suran Hosseinpour, Bakhtiar Maroufi, Qader Azarbarzin and Vahed.
