In the early morning hours of Wednesday, two inmates by the names of “Mehdi Fayaz Pasandide” and “Jafar Javadi” were hanged, on drug-related charges, in Qezel Hesar Prison, west of Tehran.
“Mehdi Fayaz, was a plasterer, staying in his friend’s home in Karaj for work. He was arrested when homeowners had taken his child to the doctor at midnight. Mr. fayaz’s lawyer had requested twice for mercy however it did not accept by judiciary officials.”, a source close to Fayaz family said.
He was married, from Shirvan, Khorasan Province, northeast of Iran.
It is worth noting that at least 26 executions had been carried out during the past few days in Iran. On Wednesday, another inmate was executed in Minab, southern Iran.
