110th Week of the “No to Execution Tuesdays” Campaign in 56 Prisons Across Iran

March 3, 2026
FacebookTwitterEmail

Members of the “No to Execution Tuesdays” campaign, in the 110th week of their activities, are on hunger strike on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, in 56 prisons across the country. While sympathizing with the suffering of the people amidst the current war conditions, they emphasized their determination for a transition to democracy and the end of the Velayat-e Faqih regime. Pointing to the shocking statistic of over 65 executions since February 20 and the issuance of death sentences for detainees of recent uprisings, these prisoners warned that the government’s killing machine continues to claim victims relentlessly. While condemning the confirmation of death sentences for political prisoners, the participants in this campaign demanded immediate attention from international bodies regarding the situation of prisoners and the referral of the regime’s crimes file to the United Nations Security Council.

Continuation of the “No to Execution Tuesdays” Campaign in its 110th Week in 56 Different Prisons

The “No to Execution Tuesdays” campaign considers the death of Iran’s dictator Ali Khamenei, the perpetrator of the massacre and execution of tens of thousands of Iranian people, as the beginning of the end of the ominous Velayat-e Faqih regime and the gateway to democracy.

In the current difficult war conditions that the despotic regime has imposed on our country, we prisoners consider ourselves alongside the general public and share in their pain and suffering.

We believe that despite all the ups and downs, Iran is ultimately moving toward a bright future and will never return to the past and dictatorial regimes. Iran’s freedom will be realized by the hands of the people and through their own unity and solidarity, not by foreign forces.

The statistics of executions in the Persian month of Esfand (since February 20) have so far exceeded 65 people. In recent days, the death sentence of another detainee from the January uprising, named Mohammad Reza Majidi Asl, has been issued in Tehran on the charge of “Moharebeh,” and two Kurdish compatriot prisoners detained during the 2022 uprising, named Mohammad Faraji and Raouf Sheikh Maroufi, have been sentenced to execution.

The death sentence of another political prisoner, Peyman Farah-Avar, in Lakan Prison of Rasht, has been confirmed for the second time by the regime’s Supreme Court, and this prisoner’s life is in danger more than ever before. Simultaneously, many other detainees are under pressure and torture, at risk of receiving inhumane death sentences and heavy verdicts.

The “No to Execution Tuesdays” campaign once again draws the attention of international communities and human rights organizations to the situation of prisoners, especially political prisoners sentenced to death, and demands their release. The shameful and crime-filled record of this regime must be referred to the United Nations Security Council.

The “No to Execution Tuesdays” campaign is on hunger strike on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, in its 110th week in the following 56 prisons:

Evin Prison (Women’s and Men’s Wards), Qezel Hesar Prison (Units 2, 3, and 4), Karaj Central Prison, Karaj Fardis Prison, Greater Tehran Prison, Qarchak Prison, Khorin Varamin Prison, Qazvin Chubindar Prison, Ahar Prison, Arak Prison, Qom Lengeroud Prison, Khorramabad Prison, Borujerd Prison, Yasuj Prison, Isfahan Asadabad Prison, Isfahan Dastgerd Prison, Ahvaz Sheiban Prison, Ahvaz Sepidar Prison (Women’s and Men’s Wards), Shiraz Nezam Prison, Shiraz Adelabad Prison (Women’s and Men’s Wards), Fars Firuzabad Prison, Dehdasht Prison, Zahedan Prison (Women’s and Men’s Wards), Borazjan Prison, Ramhormoz Prison, Behbahan Prison, Bam Prison, Yazd Prison (Women’s and Men’s Ward), Kahnuj Prison, Tabas Prison, Birjand Central Prison, Mashhad Vakilabad Prison, Gorgan Prison, Sabzevar Prison, Gonbad-e Kavus Prison, Qaem Shahr Prison, Rasht Prison (Men’s and Women’s Wards), Rudsar Prison, Talesh Haviq Prison, Lahijan Azbaram Prison, Kermanshah Dizelabad Prison, Ardabil Prison, Tabriz Prison, Urmia Prison, Salmas Prison, Khoy Prison, Naqadeh Prison, Miandoab Prison, Mahabad Prison, Bukan Prison, Saqqez Prison, Baneh Prison, Marivan Prison, Sanandaj Prison, Kamyaran Prison, and Ilam Prison.
