Political prisoner’s health condition has been reported dire on 27th day of his ongoing hunger strike. He was transferred to an infirmary outside Evin Prison due to severe kidney pain and low blood pressure. Prison authorities has denied him medical care outside the prison despite medical recommendations for being hospitalized.
Secretary General of Iran’s Teachers’ Trade Association Ismail Abdi in Ward 350, is on hunger strike since April 30, suffering from decline and fluctuations in blood pressure, and severe stomach and kidney pain. In protest against the issuing security sentences for activists of teachers and worker’s unions and his own retrial, he went on hunger strike. Now it has been more than two months that based on the physician’ view, he has to go to gastro and kidney specialists. But the Iranian Revolutionary Guards refuse to send him to hospital. Mr. Abdi was charged on March 1, 2015, and May 7, 2015, to “assembly and collusion with intent to act against national security” and “propaganda against the regime” and was sentenced to six years in prison.
