The General Sports Federation, in a statement, announced the prohibition of a number of activities including Zumba in fitness centers.
The head of this federation requested in a letter to Ghafrani, the Secretary of the Youth and Sports Commission Ministry, that they announce the banning of a number of sports activities.
This letter reads in part: “In light of activities like Zumba, dancing in any way is not legal (therefore) announce the prohibition of movements such as this.” according to the state-run ISNA news agency, June 11, 2017.
