Eighteen days past the arrest of Ali Younesi, elite student of Sharif Industrial University, there is no news available on his whereabouts and conditions.

Ali Younesi, a student of Computer Engineering at Sharif Industrial University, was apprehended by intelligence agents in Tehran on April 10, 2020.

Ten plainclothes agents raided Mr. Younesi’s residence and brutalized him before taking him away to an unknown location. They did not present their warrant.

There is no information on the reasons for the arrest, the charges against him and the place of detention of this student activist.

His sister, Ayda, and his brother, Reza, say the agents struck him in the head and bloodied his face.

In a video clip recently published in social media, Ayda Younesi demanded intelligence services to explain why they had arrested her brother. She challenged officials to announce the details of her brother’s case, otherwise apologize for slandering him.

“Where is it written in the laws that a 20-year-old boy should be brutalized while his parents are shocked by seeing his bloodied face?,” Ms. Younesi argued.

The sister of an university student released a video demanding an explanation from #Iran’s security authorities for the violent arrest of her brother.
