Home EXECUTIONS No to Execution Tuesdays Statement

74th Week of the “No to Execution Tuesdays” Campaign Held in 47 Prisons Across Iran

June 24, 2025
FacebookTwitterEmail

On Tuesday, June 24, 2025, the 74th week of the “No to Execution Tuesdays” campaign will be held in 47 prisons across the country. While the war crisis, repression, and internet shutdown have severely restricted the social space, prisoners in this week’s statement have warned about the increase in executions and the deteriorating conditions of inmates, especially in Evin Prison.

The statement partly reads: “War and executions are two sides of the coin of state violence and repression… Given the wartime situation, the lives of prisoners are in serious danger.”

Full text of the statement for the 74th week of the “No to Execution Tuesdays” campaign is as follows:

Continuation of the “No to Execution Tuesdays” Campaign in its 74th Week in 47 Different Prisons

In the 73rd week of the “No to Execution Tuesdays” campaign strike, we declared that war and executions are two sides of the coin of state killings and repression, and we warned that the lives of prisoners are at risk and that the pace of executions may accelerate. Although the regime shut down the internet, according to published reports, unfortunately, our prediction proved correct.

We express our deep concern about the conditions of prisoners held in detention facilities, especially in Evin Prison, and those sentenced to death, whose status is unknown and who may be transferred elsewhere. We strongly condemn the forced, sudden transfers of defenseless prisoners under oppressive and security-driven measures.

Given the wartime situation, the lives of prisoners are in serious danger. We urge the noble and dignified people to demand the release of prisoners by any means possible—especially by gathering in front of prisons and not leaving prisoners alone in these critical conditions.

In the 74th week of the “No to Execution Tuesdays” campaign, on Tuesday, June 24, the following 47 prisons will be on hunger strike:
Evin Prison (women’s ward, wards 4 and 8), Ghezel Hesar Prison (units 3 and 4), Karaj Central Prison, Fardis Karaj Prison, Greater Tehran Prison, Khorin Varamin Prison, Choobindar Qazvin Prison, Ahar Prison, Arak Prison, Khorramabad Prison, Yasuj Prison, Asadabad Esfahan Prison, Dastgerd Esfahan Prison, Sheyban Ahvaz Prison, Sepidar Ahvaz Prison (women’s and men’s wards), Nezam Shiraz Prison, Adel Abad Shiraz Prison (women’s and men’s wards), Firouzabad Fars Prison, Zahedan Prison (women’s ward), Borazjan Prison, Ramhormoz Prison, Behbahan Prison, Bam Prison, Kahnouj Prison, Tabas Prison, Mashhad Prison, Gonbad-e Kavus Prison, Qaemshahr Prison, Rasht Prison (men’s and women’s wards), Roudsar Prison, Haviq Talesh Prison, Azbaram Lahijan Prison, Dieselabad Kermanshah Prison, Ardabil Prison, Tabriz Prison, Urmia Prison, Salmas Prison, Khoy Prison, Naqadeh Prison, Miandoab Prison, Mahabad Prison, Bukan Prison, Saqqez Prison, Baneh Prison, Marivan Prison, Sanandaj Prison, and Kamyaran Prison.
