Iran HRM Joins Joint NGO Statement on Iran for UN High Commissioner’s Annual Report

Iran: Political Prisoners at Imminent Risk of Execution

Iran HRM has joined various human rights NGO in sending this joint written statement on the human rights situation in Iran for the purpose of the Annual report of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights and reports of the Office of the High Commissioner and the Secretary-General

It has been submitted to the UN Secretary-General by International Alliance of Women, a non-governmental organization in general consultative status, Women’s Human Rights International Association, Association Internationale pour l’égalité des femmes, France Libertes : Fondation Danielle Mitterrand, Human Rights Research League, Les femmes, la force du changement, WomenNC-NC Committee for CSW/CEDAW, World Without Genocide, non-governmental organizations in special consultative status, Association of World Citizens, International Society for Human Rights, Mouvement contre le racisme et pour l’amitié entre les peuples, non-governmental organizations on the roster.

Hands Off Cain, Federazione Italiana Diritti Umani (FIDU), Women’s UN Report Network (WUNRN), Nouveaux Droits de l’Homme (France), Pax Christi Australia, The Global Centre for Social Justice and Advocacy Leadership, Justice for the Victims of the 1988 Massacre in Iran (JVMI), Genocide Watch, Helsinki Committee for Human Rights in Serbia, Iran Human Rights Monitor (HRM), Comité de Soutien aux Droits de l’Homme en Iran (CSDHI), Association des Femmes Iraniennes en France (AFIF), Associazione delle Donne Democratiche Iraniane in Italia (ADDI), Iranska kvinnosamfundet i Sverige, Associazione Italiana per i Diritti Umani in Iran, NGO(s) without consultative status, also share the views expressed in this statement.

The Islamic Republic of Iran: Political Prisoners at Imminent Risk of Execution

We express profound alarm at the escalating campaign of politically motivated executions in the Islamic Republic of Iran. These acts constitute a grave and systematic assault on human rights, designed to suppress dissent, silence opposition, and entrench a climate of fear. The persistent culture of impunity, rooted in decades of unaddressed atrocities, continues to embolden the Iranian authorities to perpetrate gross violations of international human rights law. We believe the United Nations High-Commissioner for Human Rights, the UN Human Rights Council, UN Member States, and the broader international community should take urgent and decisive action to halt these executions, ensure accountability, and uphold the fundamental rights of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s political prisoners…
