10 Prisoners Executed in Six Cities in Iran

In continuation of the rising trend of executions in Iran, over the past few days at least 10 prisoners were executed in the prisons of Shiraz, Ahvaz, Qom, Hamedan, Yasuj, Zahedan, and Rasht. With these executions, the number of prisoners executed in less than a month has reached at least 120. At the same time, reports indicate that nine prisoners in Qezel Hesar Prison in Karaj have been transferred to solitary confinement for the imminent implementation of their death sentences.

Names and Details of the Executions

Adelabad Prison, Shiraz: On the morning of Sunday, September 14, 2024, Ghovam Najafi (from Kavar) and Amirhossein Pouramini (from Shahrbabak) were executed on charges of murder.

Sepidar Prison, Ahvaz: Javad Mortazavi, a cleric and marriage registrar, was executed on charges of murder.

Qom Prison: Rasoul Paydari was executed on drug-related charges.

Hamedan Prison:

Maziar Karami (30 years old, from Arak)

Peyman Ajami (from Hamedan)
Both were executed on drug-related charges.

Yasuj Prison: Ali Mozaffari (29 years old) was executed on charges of murder after five years in prison.

Zahedan Prison: Amer Parki (Baluchzehi), 28 years old, married with one child, was executed on charges of murder.

Lakan Prison, Rasht: Hafez Ghavidast Talakouyi (on charges of murder), and Kazem Mousavi (on drug-related charges), both were executed.

Qezel Hesar Prison : On the morning of Sunday, September 14, 2024, nine prisoners in Qezel Hesar Prison in Karaj were transferred to solitary confinement for the implementation of their death sentences—an action that usually indicates imminent execution.
