The 95th Week of the “Tuesdays Against Executions” Campaign in 54 Prisons Across the Country

November 18, 2025
FacebookTwitterEmail

The 95th week of the “Tuesdays Against Executions” campaign continues across 54 prisons in the country, marked by the hunger strike of incarcerated participants. This week’s statement, recalling the martyrs of the November 2019 uprising, declares:

“In remembrance of the fallen of the Aban uprising—over 1,500 women, men, and youths who sacrificed their lives for freedom, the oppressed who refused humiliation and rose up against tyranny and despotism—we reaffirm our commitment to continue their path until the complete abolition of executions and the realization of freedom and equality. As long as oppression and injustice persist, Aban lives on.”

The 95th-week statement of the campaign, referring to the horrifying surge in executions, further notes:

“We call on all freedom-seeking people of Iran—in every city, every neighborhood, and with any means and capacity—to refuse silence in the face of this horrific wave of executions and to raise their voices of protest, in every possible way and at every level, against the implementation of death sentences.”

Full Statement of the 95th Week of the Campaign

Continuation of the “Tuesdays Against Executions” Campaign in its 95th Week Across 54 Prisons

This week, once again, we reaffirm our pledge to stand firm against the machinery of state repression and murder. We recall the martyrs of the Aban uprising—over 1,500 women, men, and adolescents who gave their lives for freedom, the oppressed who refused to bow to indignity and rose against tyranny. We insist on carrying forward their path until executions are entirely abolished and freedom and equality are achieved. As long as injustice prevails, Aban endures.

We enter the 95th week of this campaign at a time when the reconfirmation of the death sentences for three political prisoners in Sheiban Prison of Ahvaz (Alireza Mardasi, Farshad Etemadifar, and Masoud Jamaei) once again lays bare the cruelty and normalization of judicial–security violence against protesters and ordinary citizens.

During the past week, one prisoner was executed in a medieval-style public hanging, and the number of executions since the beginning of Aban has exceeded 250—an alarming figure that reflects the catastrophic scale of state violence and repression in Iran.

The “Tuesdays Against Executions” campaign—which has so far amplified the voices of families, activists, and death-row prisoners across 54 prisons in Iran—reiterates once again:

We, the people, are the only shield protecting prisoners from the gallows.

We call on all freedom-loving people of Iran—every city, every district, and with whatever means available—not to remain silent in the face of this terrifying wave of executions. Raise your voice of protest, in every form and on every platform, against the implementation of death sentences.

We must stand with the families who weekly gather in front of prisons and judicial institutions—courageous yet grieving but still hopeful—protesting the imminent executions of their loved ones. Once again, we emphasize that only through solidarity and collective resistance can this machinery of death be stopped.
