In the ninety-ninth week of the “No to Execution Tuesdays” campaign, prisoners in 55 of the country’s prisons are continuing this protest movement. This week’s statement, released concurrently with the International Day of “Reconciliation,” points to the escalation of executions by the government, which have claimed the lives of at least 67 individuals in the past week alone. The campaign, while noting the death sentence issued for Ramin Zeleh and the reissuance of death sentences for six political prisoners in Qezel Hesar Prison, has deemed execution the absolute negation of justice and any possibility of social reconciliation.

Continuation of the “No to Execution Tuesdays” Campaign in its Ninety-Ninth Week in 55 Different Prisons
This week, the “No to Execution Tuesdays” campaign is being held concurrently with the International Day of “Reconciliation,” a day that signifies the end of violence in the world. But in Iran, the despotic government continues with terrifying speed to substitute the hangman’s noose for justice and dialogue.
Reconciliation is not possible without truth and justice, and execution is the negation of justice and the absolute negation of any possibility for social reconciliation.
This campaign has now continued for ninety-nine tireless weeks in 55 of the country’s prisons; a collective effort from within the prisons to defend the “right to life” and to confront the policy of death.
The tyrannical regime ruling Iran has intensely continued the trend of executions in the past week, executing at least 67 people. Since November 22, it has sent nearly 271 individuals to the gallows.
These executions are carried out without fair trials, without effective access to an independent lawyer, and amid a media blackout; a process that indicates the institutionalization of execution as a tool of political and social suppression.
This week, Ramin Zeleh, a political prisoner held in Naqadeh Prison, was sentenced to death by Branch One of the Mahabad Revolutionary Court on the charge of “armed rebellion” (baghy).

Also, in the past week, the death sentences of six political prisoners held in Qezel Hesar Prison and members of the “No to Execution Tuesdays” campaign —including Babak Alipour, Pouya Ghobadi, Vahid Bani Amerian, Akbar (Shahrokh) Daneshvarkar, Mohammad Taghavi, and Abolhassan Montazer —were once again issued by Branch 26 of the sham Tehran Revolutionary Court.

On December 11, 2025, Ehsan Rostami, a well-known activist in the field of books and publishing, was charged with “armed rebellion” (baghy) and transferred to a solitary confinement cell in Evin Prison; an action that increases the risk of intensified pressure and the issuance of a death sentence.
In a continuation of these suppressions, the government arrested a number of attendees during the memorial service for the late Khosro Alikordi. This action is a continuation of the same policy of elimination and intimidation of society.
The “No to Execution Tuesdays” campaign, while condemning these suppressions and the rapid pace of executions by the executioner regime, calls upon the honorable people of Iran, awakened consciences, and international human rights organizations to be the voice of prisoners on death row, to publicize and follow up on their cases, and to provide practical and media support to their families.
In its ninety-ninth week, on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, the “No to Execution Tuesdays” campaign is on a hunger strike in the following 55 prisons:
Evin Prison (men’s and women’s wards), Qezel Hesar Prison (Units 2, 3, and 4), Karaj Central Prison, Fardis Prison in Karaj, Greater Tehran Penitentiary, Qarchak Prison, Khorin Prison in Varamin, Choubindar Prison in Qazvin, Ahar Prison, Arak Prison, Langarud Prison in Qom, Khorramabad Prison, Borujerd Prison, Yasuj Prison, Asadabad Prison in Isfahan, Dastgerd Prison in Isfahan, Sheiban Prison in Ahvaz, Sepidar Prison in Ahvaz (men’s and women’s wards), Nezam Prison in Shiraz, Adelabad Prison in Shiraz (men’s and women’s wards), Firuzabad Prison in Fars, Dehdasht Prison, Zahedan Prison (men’s and women’s wards), Borazjan Prison, Ramhormoz Prison, Behbahan Prison, Bam Prison, Yazd Prison, Kahnuj Prison, Tabas Prison, Birjand Central Prison, Mashhad Prison, Sabzevar Prison, Gonbad-e Kavus Prison, Qaem Shahr Prison, Rasht Prison (men’s and women’s wards), Rudsar Prison, Haviq Prison in Talesh, Ezbaram Prison in Lahijan, Dizel Abad Prison in Kermanshah, Ardabil Prison, Tabriz Prison, Urmia Prison, Salmas Prison, Khoy Prison, Naqadeh Prison, Miandoab Prison, Mahabad Prison, Bukan Prison, Saqqez Prison, Baneh Prison, Marivan Prison, Sanandaj Prison, Kamyaran Prison, and Ilam Prison
