Home EXECUTIONS No to Execution Tuesdays Statement

91st Week of the “No to Execution Tuesdays” Campaign in 52 Prisons Across Iran

October 21, 2025
FacebookTwitterEmail

On Tuesday, October 21, 2025, the 91st week of the “No to Execution Tuesdays” campaign is being held, as prisoners in Ward 2 of Qezel Hesar Prison managed-through a week-long hunger strike and the slogan “No to Execution”-to halt the execution of six of their fellow inmates.

This week’s statement, referring to this brave act of resistance, emphasizes:

“The executioner regime, fearful of uprising and revolution, seeks to silence the cries and protests of the people through ruthless repression. But such illusions are in vain!”

The campaign, while saluting these courageous prisoners, calls on human rights organizations to take concrete and practical measures to stop the ongoing killings and to be the voice of those sentenced to death.

The full text of the statement for the 91st week of the “No to Execution Tuesdays” campaign reads as follows:

Continuation of the “No to Execution Tuesdays” Campaign in Its Ninety-First Week Across 52 Prisons

The “No to Execution Tuesdays” campaign enters its ninety-first week as prisoners in Ward 2 of Qezel Hesar Prison stood firm against mass executions and government repression through a week-long hunger strike and the slogan “No to Execution.” They succeeded in bringing back six of their cellmates who had been taken to solitary confinement for execution. For each of these prisoners, this hunger strike was essentially a march toward death, as the medieval regime’s judiciary could have hastened their own executions in retaliation for their defiance.

Following this act of resistance, on Sunday, October 19, 2025, the prisoners’ families gathered in front of the regime’s parliament to voice their protest against its repressive and execution-driven policies.

These cries and acts of defiance stand against a regime of cruelty that savagely carries out mass executions. In just the past week, it executed 59 individuals, including two women and one juvenile offender, and in the month of Mehr alone (since September 23), 232 prisoners were executed. Thus, the total number of executions since the beginning of the current  Iranian year 1404 (since  March 21, 2025) has exceeded 1,087.

In line with this, last Saturday, the regime of executions and atrocities hanged a prisoner in Qom Prison on fabricated charges of “collaboration with hostile states.”

The executioner regime, terrified of uprising and revolution, continues its brutal repression to stifle the cries and movements of the Iranian people in cities across the country. But such delusions are futile! The death-row prisoners of Qezel Hesar and their families have shown that they have nothing left to lose and are determined to topple the gallows and the foundations of tyranny altogether.

The “No to Execution Tuesdays” campaign, while saluting the steadfast prisoners of Ward 2 of Qezel Hesar Prison, calls on the international community and human rights organizations to take specific, practical, and enforceable measures to stop the ongoing massacre of prisoners and to amplify the voices of those condemned to death. Such measures include cutting relations with this inhumane regime and initiating investigations into officials responsible for torture and killings in Iran.

Inaction in the face of the atrocities of this naked despotism effectively means complicity in its crimes.

Until the complete abolition of executions, we will continue to stand firm in the “No to Execution Tuesdays” campaign, be the voice of prisoners and their families, and keep our hopes pinned on the support of the noble people of Iran-in every possible way, in every alley, street, and city.

Members of the “No to Execution Tuesdays” Campaign on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, Will Be on Hunger Strike in the Following 52 Prisons:
