Mohammad Reza Haddadi, a young death row prisoner, is currently detained in Shiraz’s Adel Abad Prison.
The blind father of this young prisoner has asked human rights organizations in a voice recording, to work for the release of his son from prison.
Mohammad Reza Haddadi, who was born on March 17, 1988, was arrested when he was 16 years old. He was charged with theft and murder. The minor prisoner confessed to theft and murder in an initial investigation and trial, held on October 30, 2003, but on November 7, he wrote in a letter to court that one of the other defendants had given him money asking him to take the blame due to his young age. He also wrote that he was deceived and did not play a role in the crime. The minor defendant has been taken for execution twice up to now. He is now suffering from heart and intestine problems and also serious psychological problems due to prison conditions.
