Iran blocks more than 20,000 internet channels per week

The Iranian authorities’ increasing attempts to control the use of the Internet have been reflected in official statements.

“More than fifteen to twenty thousand Internet networks and social media channels are being filtered by relevant authorities each week,” Iran’s attorney general emphasized at a meeting with the judiciary.

Iran remains one of the worst countries in regard to freedom of expression and other fundamental human rights stated in the Universal Human Rights Declaration.
