An inmate suffered a fatally heart attack on June 19, after being denied immediately life-saving treatment in Sanandaj Prison, west of Iran.
Suffering from severe pain in his chest, Fardin Faramarzi had referred to prison clinic twice the night before his death. Prison medics however neglected to treat him and returned him to the ward despite his urgent need for medical care.
Fardin Faramarzi fas serving a 15-year sentence based on drug related charges.
Prior to this, forensics had confirmed that he is not able to tolerate prison conditions, according to a credible source.
