The Assistant Head of International Affairs at the Judiciary’s Human Rights Staff said that public executions are implemented following all Islamic and legal guidelines.
The state-run Tasnim news-agency quoted Garib Abadi as saying, “The implementation of the death sentence is the right of the people and is carried out by the victim’s family,”
“In addition to this, 90 percent of executions are carried out for drug related crimes,” he went on to add.
