Political prisoner Loghman Aminpour was sentenced to 10 years in prison. He is presently detained in Evin Prison in Tehran.

Political prisoner Loghman Aminpour has been detained for seven months. He was summoned to court and tried on January 12, 2021. He was sentenced to 5 years in prison on the charge of “assembly and collusion against national security” and to another 5 years for “membership in the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK).”

Mr. Aminpour was born in 1991 in Tehran. He has a bachelor’s degree and worked in real estate. He is presently detained in Ward 4 of Evin Prison.

The first time he was arrested in March 2018 and sentenced to 6 years in prison for “propaganda against the state” and for “having ties with the PMOI/MEK.” He was released from jail in March 2020 after the outbreak of the Coronavirus.

He was arrested on June 2, 2020 for a second time. He was detained in solitary confinement during his interrogation. The Intelligence Ministry threatened his family and put pressure on him to accept the charges leveled against him.

In October 2020, Mr. Aminpour was infected with the virus due to overcrowding of the prison, and lack of heating in the ward. He is presently suffering from the symptoms of this disease, such as lung problems and short breath. He is deprived of access to minimum health care.
