Following the arrest of the father and brother of a slain protester, her sister, Farzaneh Farzaneh Ansarifar was “beaten and threatened” when she went to the prosecutor’s office.
According to reports, Farzaneh Ansarifar, who had gone to the Behbahan prosecutor’s office to follow up on her father and brother, was “beaten at the prosecutor’s office and threatened with arrest.”
Farzad Ansarifar, a 27-year-old construction worker was killed by security forces on November 16, 2019, at a protest against the increase in the price of gasoline in the city of Behbahan in Khuzestan Province. He was struck by a bullet behind his head.
Over 1500 men, women and children were killed during the protests.
Amin Ansarifar, Farzad’s father was arrested after appearing at Behbahan court on Saturday. He had previously received a summons to face the charges of “spreading propaganda in favor of opposition groups and organizations.”
Farzaneh Ansarifar has been prosecuted for demanding justice for her brother. His father and brother, Amin and Arman Ansarifar, have also been arrested in Behbahan on February 19 and 20.
She was arrested during a peaceful protest in Behbahan on July 16, 2020. She was subsequently transferred to the Sepidar Prison of Ahvaz and released temporarily on bail on July 24, 2020. As a member of the families of the victims of the November 2019 uprising, the clerical regime is fabricating a case against her.
Farzaneh Ansarifar has vowed not to relent until justice is done to the murderers of her brother.
