Summary of Adopted Resolution at UNHRC 52nd Session – 13 April 2023

This document is a resolution by the United Nations Human Rights Council regarding the situation of human rights in the Islamic Republic of Iran. The Council:

Welcomes the report by the Special Rapporteur on Iran’s human rights situation but expresses concern over the developments noted and Iran’s refusal to grant access to the country.
Expressing deep concern at the continued violations of a wide range of civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights.
Alarmed at the continued reports, including in the latest report of the Special Rapporteur, of peaceful protests being violently repressed, of a large number of protesters being arbitrarily arrested and detained, tortured, ill-treated and killed.
Extends the Special Rapporteur’s mandate for one more year and requests a report on its implementation to the Council and the General Assembly.
