After four years since the bloody crackdown in November 2019, where an estimated 1,500 people were killed across Iran, the Iranian judiciary is secretly and silently executing its detained protesters one by one. None of the November 2019 protesters had been executed in these four years, but within a span of nine days, three of them have been executed.

Kamran Rezaei was executed on Thursday, November 30, 2023
On Thursday, November 30, 2023, the execution sentence of another detainee from the November 2019 protests, named Kamran Rezaei, was carried out at Shiraz Central Prison. Kamran Rezaei, 33, was arrested during the November 2019 protests and falsely charged with the murder of a Basij member. He had been held in solitary confinement for seven months and forced under torture to confess against himself.
According to an informed source, Kamran Rezaei endured severe torture, to the point where his urine was mixed with blood for an extended period, and he suffered serious problems with his right ear. Kamran always maintained his innocence and believed he would be released.
More details are not available about Kamran Rezaei’s case. However, he was unjustly sentenced to death in an unfair trial, and all the charges against him were based on confessions obtained under torture.
Gholam Rasoul Heydari was executed on Wednesday, November 22, 2023
On Wednesday, November 22, 2023, another detainee from the November 2019 protests, Gholam Rasoul Heydari, a Baluch citizen, was executed amid media silence at Adelabad Prison in Shiraz. Information about his execution has been made public, just recently.
According to the Campaign of Baluch Activists, this citizen had arrived in Jask city from Turkey during the November 2019 protests and was detained by military forces on the way from Minab to Jask, falsely accused of “chanting protest slogans and carrying political books.” After the arrest, Mr. Heydari was transferred to Evin Prison and sentenced to life imprisonment by the Revolutionary Court. After his family’s efforts, he was eventually transferred to Adelabad Prison in Shiraz.
However, suddenly and without prior notice, without having a final visit with his family, he was hanged despite his sentence of life imprisonment.
According to reports received from the Campaign of Baluch Activists, Ali Akbar Heydari, the father of Gholam Rasoul Heydari, suffered a heart attack and passed away on Friday, one day after the announcement of his son’s execution.
