Political Prisoners in Iran Continue Hunger Strike to Protest Mass Executions

The hunger strike initiated by political prisoners in Iran has reached its sixth consecutive week as part of the “No to Execution Tuesdays” campaign. On Monday, March 4, 2024, prisoners confirmed their ongoing protest against the mass executions carried out by the Iranian regime.

In a collective message, prisoners announced that on Tuesday, March 4, 2024, the sixth week of the hunger strike would continue in prisons across the country, including Evin Prison (Ward 4 and Women’s Ward), Vakilabad Prison in Mashhad, Qezel-Hesar Prison, and facilities in Khorramabad, Karaj, and other cities.

The prisoners condemned the regime’s resumption of mass executions, which they described as retaliation for its failure in the recent election spectacle. They emphasized that the hunger strike serves as a unified call to halt the wave of executions. They also invited prisoners nationwide to join the strike and urged independent media to amplify their voices.
