Home EXECUTIONS No to Execution Tuesdays Statement

61st week of the ” No to Execution Tuesdays ” campaign

March 25, 2025
FacebookTwitterEmail

The sixty-first week of the ” No to Execution Tuesdays ” campaign continues with a hunger strike by political prisoners in 38 prisons across the country. The participating prisoners issued a statement referencing the shocking statistics of executions in the Iranian year 1403 (from 20 mars 2024 to 20 mars 2025), stating that over 1,150 condemned prisoners, including 38 women, were hanged. Among them, 135 were Baluch compatriots and 104 were Kurdish compatriots. Additionally, five political prisoners were executed, and eight prisoners were hanged publicly in a medieval manner. There were also 7 juveniles among those executed.

The members of the “No to Execution Tuesdays” campaign called for all organizations and political activists to express their opposition to executions in Iran, writing:

“We, the members of the “No to Execution Tuesdays” campaign, stand united and resolute against the inhuman sentence of execution. We urge all parties, organizations, groups, and activists—who care about the ‘right to life and human rights’ and oppose executions—to take more practical and effective actions against executions in the new year; hoping that 1404 will be the year of the end of repression and executions, and the beginning of freedom for Iran.”

The complete statement for the sixty-first week of the ” No to Execution Tuesdays ” campaign is as follows:

Statistical Report on Executions in 1403 (21 March 2024 – 20 March 2025)
“No to ExecutionsTuesdays”: The sixty-first week of the campaign in 38 prisons
The hanging of over 1,150 condemned prisoners in 1403

In the first week of 1404 (last week of March), the “No to Executions Tuesdays ” campaign announces the brutal execution statistics of the regime for the year 1403: Over 1,150 condemned prisoners, including 38 women, were hanged. Among them, 135 were Baluch compatriots and 104 were Kurdish compatriots. Additionally, five political prisoners were executed, and eight prisoners were hanged publicly in a medieval manner.

It is noteworthy that about 85% of the executions in 1403 took place during the presidency of Pezeshkian. This indicates that the factions of this regime show no difference in their slaughter and execution of the people of Iran.

We, the members of the ” No to Execution Tuesdays ” campaign, stand united and resolute against the inhuman sentence of execution. We call upon all parties, organizations, groups, and activists—who care about the “right to life and human rights” and oppose executions—to take more practical and effective actions against executions in the new year, hoping that 1404 will be the year of the end of repression and executions and the beginning of freedom for Iran.

In the sixty-first week of the ” No to Execution Tuesdays ” campaign, on Tuesday, Farvardin 5, 1404 (March 25, 2025), there will be a hunger strike in 38 prisons, including:
