Continuation of the “No to Execution Tuesdays” Campaign in its 101st Week in 55 Different Prisons, Coinciding with the Strikes and Protests of the Tehran Bazaar
The “No to Execution Tuesdays” campaign, extending greetings for Christmas, wishes all Christians a Happy New Year and hopes for the freedom and liberation of all our compatriots who are subjected to the suppression and oppression of the ruling religious dictatorship. In the words of Jesus Christ: “Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul.”
As we enter the 101st “No to Execution Tuesday,” Tehran’s bazaar merchants have been on strike and protesting against the government’s tyranny and oppression since Sunday. These protests have taken on broad dimensions and have also spread to some other cities.
In these critical days, the government is intensifying repression and executions to prevent the escalation of popular uprisings. To this end, in recent days, the inhumane death sentence was handed down to two Kurdish political prisoners, Mehrab Abdollahzadeh in Urmia Prison and Younes Bakhshi in Mahabad Prison. Over the past eight days, authorities have executed over 96 individuals, including one female prisoner in Vakilabad Prison in Mashhad.

The “No to Execution Tuesdays” campaign, while expressing its gratitude and appreciation to all the families and supporters who backed the campaign’s 100th week, calls for greater support for the “No to Execution” campaign in order to blunt the blade of repression and execution and pave the way for the abolition of the inhumane death penalty.
