108th Week of “No to Execution Tuesdays” Campaign in 56 Prisons Across Iran

February 17, 2026
FacebookTwitterEmail

Members of the “No to Execution Tuesdays” campaign, in the 108th week of their protests, went on hunger strike in 56 different prisons across the country to once again declare their firm opposition to the machine of killing and execution. In their statement, while honoring the 40th day of the martyrs of the recent uprising and condemning the execution of over 300 people since the beginning of Bahman (late January), these prisoners warned against the repetition of the crimes of the 1980s and the issuance of heavy sentences for protesters. Expressing deep concern over the condition of detainees and the risk of execution for protesters like Saleh Mohammadi, participants in this campaign called on the people and international bodies not to remain silent in order to stop these crimes and save the lives of prisoners.

Continuation of the “No to Execution Tuesdays” Campaign in the 108th Week in 56 Different Prisons

On the 40th day of the martyrs of the Dey [January] uprising, and with the most sincere sympathies to the families and the brave people who, with strong will, honor the memory of those martyrs in the 40th-day ceremonies of their loved ones and, instead of mourning, have steeled their resolve to continue the path until victory, the members of the “No to Execution Tuesdays” campaign also declare their unsparing companionship and support for the uprising of the Iranian people as well as the families of the martyrs.

The documents, videos, and photos that have been gradually published these days, revealing corners of the great crime of Dey by the oppressive government, confirm this ominous statement by Khamenei that “The God of now is the same God of the sixties.” This level of crime once again reminds us how terrible and massive were the dimensions of the crime against humanity and the secret massacres of the 1980s and 1988 in the prisons, which were hidden from the view of cameras. Crimes, the full dimensions of which have not yet been unveiled.

Yes, now tens of thousands of detainees from the recent protests are under pressure and torture, and plans are being made to issue death sentences and heavy prison terms for them. We call on all international bodies for immediate action to save these prisoners. Meanwhile, since the beginning of Bahman [late January], more than 300 prisoners, including 3 women, have been hanged.

According to published news, Saleh Mohammadi, an 18-year-old wrestler who was arrested during the Dey protests, is facing a death sentence in Qom prison and his life is in serious danger.

The members of the “No to Execution Tuesdays” campaign ask the general public of Iran, especially the families of the detainees, not to remain silent and to inform [the public] about the news and names of their loved ones and be their voice.

The “No to Execution Tuesdays” campaign is on hunger strike on Tuesday, 17 February 2026, in its 108th week in 56 different prisons:
