Now It is Time to Save 50,000 Prisoners of the Uprising
For the people of Iran, the historic decision of the European Union to designate the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization is more than a diplomatic maneuver; it is the – long due – legal recognition of decades of systematic crimes against humanity. This breakthrough is the direct result of a steadfast nation that has paid the price for freedom with the lives of its bravest children. This action marks a first step in ending the “unwritten impunity” for the regime’s primary engine of suppression and the beginning of a new chapter of international accountability.
The Blood of Martyrs: An Engine of International Justice
The names of hundreds of martyrs, identified and documented with precision and devotion by Iran’s human rights monitoring sources, have now transformed into a global indictment against the entire ruling establishment. These living testimonies are the very truth that shattered the long-standing wall of turning a blind eye to the defense of human rights in Europe. From Farabi Hospital, which witnessed the destruction of the vision of Iran’s youth, to the blood-stained streets across the country, it was this “great sacrifice” and the blood of the January 2026 martyrs that forced the world to acknowledge that what is happening in Iran is not an internal matter, but an organized “Extermination” by an anti-human entity.
Prisons: The Danger of Massacre in the Shadow of Retaliation
While this legal victory is a major step forward, it must not be forgotten that simultaneously with this devastating human rights blow to Khamenei’s regime on the international stage, the execution machine inside prisons will accelerate. The regime, finding its international credibility utterly destroyed, may seek to quench the flames of the uprising by taking revenge on defenseless detainees.
According to documented reports, more than 50,000 detainees in prisons such as Evin, Qezel Hesar, Lakan, Dastgerd, and Vakilabad are suspended in a “Legal Limbo.” Henchmen like Eje’i and Ahmad Khatami, by issuing orders for “exemplary punishment” and accusing protesters of “Moharebeh” (enmity against God), are laying the groundwork for a widespread massacre. The IRGC, now officially a terrorist entity, is directly responsible for “Extrajudicial” torture and enforced disappearances. The lives of these 50,000 individuals are now in greater peril than ever before.
Legal Logic: The Nullification of Detentions
From the perspective of international law, when the executive and security arm of a structure (the IRGC) is recognized as a terrorist entity, all actions taken by that entity lack any legal legitimacy:
- Invalidity of Case Files: All confessions and files compiled under the supervision of the IRGC and its security apparatus are blatant examples of torture by a terrorist group. According to international conventions, they hold no judicial value.
- The Right to Immediate Release: The international community is duty-bound to insist on the legal principle that these protesters were abducted by a terrorist structure, and their continued detention is the continuation of a war crime.
A Call for Urgent Legal Action
The terrorist designation of the IRGC must become a tool for saving lives. We demand from the world’s legal assemblies:
1- Deployment of Independent Monitoring Teams: The immediate presence of international observers in secret prisons, safe houses, and official detention centers to prevent retaliatory executions.
2- Criminal Prosecution of Commanders: Application of the principle of Universal Jurisdiction to issue international arrest warrants for the commanders and judges who ordered the torture and murder of protesters.
The Countdown to Save the Generation of the Uprising
The countdown is moving in the solitary cells and torture chambers. The bloodthirsty regime, terrified by the awakening of the global conscience, sees execution as its only means of survival. We warn the world: the terrorist designation of the IRGC creates a “Legal Responsibility” for the international community to protect the victims of this entity.
The blood of the martyrs of the January 2026 uprising moved the world; now it is time to act for the thousands of young people under the executioner’s blade. The 50,000 detainees facing the most brutal tortures must not fall victim to the retaliation of a pariah regime. Their freedom is a non-negotiable human rights necessity.
Do not let this legal victory be buried behind prison bars. Be the voice of the prisoners. Save lives.
