A young woman was sentenced to 74 lashes and washing the dead in a mortuary for two years for having illicit relations with a man.
The ruling was issued by the 5th Branch of Tehran’s Criminal Court.
Mina, 35, was interrogated by the police after her husband filed a complaint against her on February 15, 2017.
Subsequent to admissions made by the young woman, her partner was tried in a closed court and sentenced to 99 lashes and internal exile to a remote city.
The ruling will be carried out after it is upheld by the Supreme Court.
