Navid Khanjani, a human rights activist and a member of Baha’i community, is still being held by the authorities after he finished his prison sentence.
Having served a 5-year prison term Navid Khanjani was due to be released on May 6, 2017. However, he is still being held in custody and prison authorities are refusing to release him.
IRGC news outlets streamed an online interview last June, accusing Khanjani of new fabricate charge of “planning for armed measures against the state.”
Navid Khanjani was arrested in September 2012 and taken to Ward 4, Hall 12 of Rajaei Shahr Prison in Karaj, west of Tehran.
He was charged with “spreading lies,” “disturbing public minds,” “propaganda against the state through publishing news and reports,” “taking part in interviews with foreign media,” and “launching population of combat against educational discrimination.”
