There are no reports of political prisoner Mehdi Farahi Shandiz after he was beaten and transferred to solitary confinement in Central Prison of Karaj, west of Tehran.
He has been denied family calls since January 5 on the order of judge Shahravi, after chanting “Death to Dictator” from his cell.
The judge had not specified the period of his detention in the quarantine ward and restrictions he would face.
In response to the repeated referrals of Mr. Farahi’s family to the prison, another judge Mohammad Moghiseh said Mr. Farahi will not be transferred from solitary confinement to the communal ward.
