Golrokh Iraee violently transferred to the notorious Ward 2A of Evin Prison.
Political prisoner Golrokh Iraee has been violently removed from Qarchak Prison and taken by force to the IRGC Intelligence Ward 2A in Evin Prison.
Prison guards brutalized Golrokh Iraee by stun guns on Sunday, December 13, 2020.
Ms. Iraee had previously refused to go to Ward 2A when she was first summoned on December 7 by the IRGC Intelligence, without mentioning any reason. She said her summon was illegal since she was serving her sentence in Qarchak Prison.
The IRGC Intelligence said Golrokh Ebrahimi Iraee must be transferred for one week to Ward 2A of Evin Prison to undergo investigations.
Ms. Iraee’s family are concerned that the summoning of their daughter might have been planned to extend her imprisonment.
Political prisoner Golrolkh Ebrahimi Iraee was first imprisoned in Evin on October 16, 2015, for writing an unpublished book against stoning.
Ms. Iraee and Atena Daemi were brutalized in January 2018 and banished to Qarchak Prison by force, after which they went on hunger strike.
After an 81-day hunger strike, Ms. Iraee was returned to Evin. Then, she was released on April 8, 2019, after finishing serving her sentence.
In the meantime, while in prison, a new case was fabricated against Golrokh Iraee and Atena Daemi for protesting the execution of three Kurdish political prisoners.
Ms. Iraee was rearrested and taken to Qarchak Prison to serve her 3 years and 7 months’ prison term for the new case filed against her by the IRGC and the Intelligence Ministry.
Political prisoner Golrokh Ebrahimi Iraee is married to Arash Sadeghi, a political prisoner detained in Rajaishahr Prison. He suffers from chondrosarcoma (bone cancer) and is denied adequate medical treatment. Ms. Iraee has been deprived of visiting her husband or calling him.
