The Commander of the South Khorasan State Security Forces said that 55 men and women were arrested in a mixed gender party after decisive and timely action by the SSF, according to the state-run Mehr news agency report on January 24, 2018.
“After receiving information that a lady intends to hold a mixed night party with her husband in Birjand, the Public Security Police were tasked with the issue… it was determined that the party was to be held in a villa and the venue was monitored… Agents were sent to the scene in operational units and arrested 32 men and 23 women who were dancing together,” Majid Shoja said.
