The request by the murderer of political prisoner Alireza Shir-Mohammad-Ali was granted and he was transferred from the detention center of Shapour Detective Department in Tehran to Gohardasht Prison.
Hamidreza Shoja’ii Zavareh, accused of complicity in the murder of Alireza Shir-Mohammad-Ali was sent to Gohardasht aka Rajai-shahr Prison, on June 18, 2019.
On the same day, Alireza’s cellmate, Barzan Mohammadi, announced that the murderers of Alireza Shir-Mohammad-Ali, Hamidreza Shoja’ii Zavareh and Mohammadreza Khalilzadeh, had been transferred to Rajai-shahr Prison.
In his letter, Barzan Mohammadi wrote that the two convicts had previously warned that they would commit murder so that they could be sent back to the prison they were previously held. They boasted of swindling through the internet and earning a lot of money in their previous prison.
Barzan Mohammadi was transferred to Evin Prison on June 16. Barzan Mohammadi, 41, from Kurdistan, has been sentenced to six years for his activities on the internet and in social media.
Mr. Mohammadi and Alireza Shir-Mohammad-Ali went on strike for more than two months, demanding to be transferred to Evin Prison and be separated from common convicts.
On Friday, June 14, 2019, the funeral procession and burial of political prisoner Alireza Shir-Mohammad-Ali was held at Behesht-e Zahra cemetery south of Tehran.
The 21-year-old political prisoner was viciously stabbed to death on June 10, 2019, in a premeditated plan by two inmates recruited by authorities of Greater Tehran’s Penitentiary, aka Fashafouyeh Prison.
The funeral procession of Alireza Shir-Mohammad-Ali was held under repressive conditions as a large number of security forces and plainclothes agents were present at the cemetery.
In addition to the victim’s family, however, a group of mothers of martyrs and political prisoners participated in this ceremony. Some women asked Alireza’s mother to be brave and stand up to uphold the flag of her slain son, by joining the Call-for-Justice movement of mothers of martyrs.
