Abolfazl Maghsoudi, a minor is detained in the Greater Tehran Penitentiary among adults because his family does not afford to pay his heavy bail. He was arrested during the protests in November 2019.
Abolfazl Maghsoudi was born on February 18, 2002. He used to work in a stone masonry and took night classes. He has lost his father and is his family’s breadwinner.
Even during his time in detention, Mr. Maghsoudi is working to earn his expenses.
Abolfazl Maghsoudi was arrested by the Intelligence police on November 17, 2019 and taken to their detention center. After completion of his interrogations he was transferred to the Greater Tehran Penitentiary on November 21, 2019.
Three months since his arrest, the case of Abolfazl Maghsoudi is still under examination in the Public and Revolutionary Court of Pardis. Mr. Maghsoudi is charged with “disruption of public order.”
An informed source close to Mr. Maghsoudi’s family said he had been identified by monitoring the footages of closed circuit cameras. Security forces beat him by electric shockers at the time of arrest the scars of which continue to remain on his neck.
The bail bond set for Abolfazl Maghsoudi is 500 million tomans and the judicial authorities have not agreed to cut the amount of bail.
