Mohammad Reza Mahboubfar, an expert and researcher in development planning and social harm has been prosecuted for exposing statistics on social harm.
The state media reported on May 28, 1401, that a lawsuit has been filed against Mohammad Reza Mahboubfar.
A case has been filed against this social harm researcher on charges of “publishing undocumented lies.”
Mehr news agency, an outlet linked to the regime’s Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS)wrote, “An informed source in the judiciary confirmed the indictment against Mohammad Reza. M. After declaring a crime against this person, a judicial case has been filed and the investigation is ongoing.”
“The reason for filing a lawsuit is the publication of undocumented lies by the accused, and he has not yet provided a credible document for his claims,” the report added.
Mehr’s report said: “It is worth mentioning Mohammad Reza. M., an expert in the field of social harms, recently provided statistics on daily abortions in the country.”
The report referred to the shocking statistics recently provided by Mahboubfar regarding abortion or the abandonment of infants.
Mohammad Reza Mahboubfar revealed the shocking statistics on thousands of abandoned babies in an interview with state media. He said that some 5,000 babies left on the streets across the country in the past ten days signal a social catastrophe in Iran. (The state-run Ruydad24.com, May 28, 2022)
Mahboubfar also acknowledged that typically between 2,000 and 2,500 fetuses and infants are aborted or abandoned on the streets daily in Iran.
Referring to the tsunami of rising prices in the last two or three years, he said this issue was one of the effective factors in increasing the number of babies left on the streets.
“In circumstances where the housing poverty line has reached 80 or 90 percent in Tehran, and other major cities, 40 million people live in the slums or have poor housing. Some 30 million people rent their housing and must spend 50 percent of their income to pay rent. There is nothing left for education, health, and entertainment with these expenses. As a result, we can say that contraceptives are no longer available to these 40 million people.”
Mohammad Reza Mahboubehfar has exposed other catastrophes which are ongoing due to the regime’s corruption and mismanagement.
