On the early days of the Iranian New Year and the Norouz holiday, on Sunday, March 24, 2024, a young border porter named Soran Abdi was killed by direct gunfire from Iranian border forces while working as a porter at the Baneh border.
Soran Abdi, a 22-year-old married resident of Baneh, was severely injured because of gunfire by security forces. Sadly, during the transfer to medical facilities, he succumbed to his injuries and lost his life. According to an informed source, Mr. Abdi’s wife is pregnant.
On the same day, March 24, 2024, a 16-year-old border porter named Milad Hosseini, from Divandarreh, was severely injured during his work as a porter at the border of Marivan. He was transferred to a hospital for medical treatment.
Another border porter named Arvin Haqani from Saqqez was injured at the Nowsud border by direct gunfire from security forces. Additionally, another border porter named Jamil Abdi from Javanroud was also injured by the direct gunfire of security forces.
