Reza Arabpour, a political prisoner from Izeh and one of the detainees of the nationwide protests in 2022, is still in a state of uncertainty after twenty months of detention, as he remains in Sheiban Prison in Ahvaz.
Hossein Ali Hatami, the defense lawyer of this political prisoner, has stated regarding the latest situation of Mr. Arabpour: “Despite more than one year and eight months passing, Reza Arabpour is still in detention in Sheiban Prison in Ahvaz.Furthermore, the court session for the charges against this citizen, along with Mohsen Ahmadpour, Bahman Bahmani, Rasoul Bodaghi, Vahid Abbasi, and Esmaeil Mousavi Nezhad, who are involved in a joint case, including charges such as armed rebellion, spreading corruption on Earth, and forming a subversive group, was held on the 29th, 30th of June and July 1st, in the Fourth Branch of the Revolutionary Court in Ahvaz. Each of the defendants attended the session separately and defended themselves against the charges.”
Reza Arabpour, along with fellow citizens named Mohsen Ahmadpour, Bahman Bahmani, Behrouz Salhshour, Rasoul Bodaghi, Vahid Abbasi, Sadegh Ghasemi, and Esmaeil Moosavi Nezhad, were arrested in November 2022 by the order of the case investigator, conducted by the intelligence forces of Sepah (IRGC). After the completion of the investigation process, they were transferred to Sheiban Prison in Ahvaz.
A few months later, the indictment of these individuals regarding the mentioned charges was referred to the Fourth Branch of the Revolutionary Court in Ahvaz.
Among these individuals, Bahman Bahmani, Mohsen Ahmadpour, Vahid Abbasi, Esmaeil Moosavi Nezhad, Behrouz Salhshour, and Rasoul Bodaghi have been released from Sheiban Prison in Ahvaz after posting bail.
