According to reports received by the Iran Human Rights Monitor (Iran HRM), six prisoners were secretly executed at the central prison in Qazvin in August 2024. The exact date of the executions is under investigation.
According to a reliable source, six prisoners were executed in the current calendar month at the central prison in Qazvin, with the identities of four of them confirmed. The identities of the male prisoners: Vahid Ebrahimzadeh, Vahid Soltanabadi, Amir Hossein Bagherieh, and Hamid Behmazek have been verified by this source. The identities of the two female prisoners have not been confirmed at the time of this news release and are under investigation.
Vahid Ebrahimzadeh and Vahid Soltanabadi were charged with drug-related offenses, leading to their arrest and subsequent sentencing to execution. The other two male prisoners, Amir Hossein Bagherieh and Hamid Behmazek, were detained on murder charges and sentenced to execution. The charges against the two female prisoners are still unclear.
The same informed source further stated that at least 31 prisoners have been secretly executed in the past year and a half at the central prison in Qazvin (Choubindar). And these executions have not been recorded or reported anywhere.
The execution of these six prisoners was carried out secretly, and neither state nor judiciary-affiliated media in Iran reported any of these executions. The executions were carried out in silence and media blackout.
