As we enter the seventy-third week of the “No to Execution Tuesdays” campaign, the machinery of execution continues its relentless operation despite the crisis brought on by war. Since the beginning of the Iranian month of Khordad (May 22), at least 126 people have been executed—a shocking figure that clearly reveals how judicial repression, alongside wartime violence, has become a key instrument of the regime to control society.
This week’s statement declares: “Execution is not a punishment; it is a crime, and we strongly condemn all death sentences, regardless of the charges.”
The campaign continues this week with hunger strikes in 47 prisons across the country.

Continuation of the “No to Execution Tuesdays” Campaign in the Seventy-Third Week Across 47 Different Prisons
The people of Iran have been dragged into a war they never wanted. War and execution are two sides of the same coin—both stripping people of their right to life. We express our deep solidarity with all civilians who have lost their lives and emphasize collective unity in these extraordinary circumstances imposed upon us by two war-mongering regimes.
Despite the exceptional and dire situation caused by war, the machinery of death and killing has not paused for a moment. The authoritarian regime continues to execute citizens. Since the beginning of Khordad (May 22), at least 126 individuals have been executed. On just one day, June 10, 2025, 12 prisoners were sent to the gallows.
Additionally, on Monday, June 16, 2025, Esmail Fekri, a security prisoner accused of espionage, was secretly executed in Qezel-Hesar Prison without any public disclosure. These shocking execution statistics are not just numbers—they are tragic stories of lives unjustly taken.
Most of these executions occur without transparent information, without fair judicial process, and in media silence. Many of the victims are the underprivileged, followers of minority religions and beliefs, and political prisoners—individuals whose only “crimes” were seeking justice, freedom, or simply trying to survive.
One such individual was political prisoner Mojahed Kourkour, who was arrested during the 2022 uprising and, after enduring nearly two and a half years of imprisonment and torture, was unjustly executed last week.
We, the members of the “No to Execution Tuesdays” campaign, in its seventy-third week, once again declare: Execution is not a punishment; it is a crime. We strongly condemn all death sentences, regardless of the charges, and we will continue to resist them. These executions are state-sanctioned murders. We will never forget the victims, we will not remain silent, and we will not back down.
We call on the people and the international community to pay close attention during these critical days of war, as the threat of death looms over many political and social prisoners. Just last night, Dizel Abad Prison in Kermanshah was subjected to both aerial bombardment and a brutal assault by the prison’s oppressive guards. Now more than ever, the presence and solidarity of the people is vital. You—conscious and freedom-loving individuals—are our only support and our voice.
The immediate release of all political and ideological prisoners and the immediate abolition of all death sentences must become a public demand, as the lives of political prisoners and those sentenced to death are in serious danger. There is great concern that, as in the past, the regime will escalate executions to intensify repression and spread fear.
