The protest campaign of “No to Execution Tuesdays” entered its 129th week as, with the joining of Borujen Prison, the number of striking prisons across the country has increased to 58. By continuing their weekly hunger strike, political and ideological prisoners in this campaign have strongly warned about the unprecedented acceleration of the government’s execution machine and the issuance of death sentences for those detained during popular uprisings, including several teenagers and juvenile. While condemning the recent attacks by the prison guard on the women’s ward of Evin Prison and the transfer of Qezel Hesar prisoners for execution, the strikers have called on public opinion and international organizations to take immediate action to stop these inhumane punishments.

Continuation of the “No to Execution Tuesdays” campaign in 58 prisons in the 129th week. Borujen Prison joins the campaign
Call to save the lives of non-political death-row prisoners in Qezel Hesar and warning against the escalation of death sentences for political prisoners
Two years after the administration of Pezeshkian, the appointed president of the Velayat-e Faqih regime, took office, the number of executions has risen catastrophically, such that at least 3,888 individuals have been sent to the gallows so far.
According to reports, last week, a 52-year-old female prisoner was hanged in Adelabad Prison in Shiraz.
In the continuation of these killings and crackdowns, we are witnessing heavy sentences and executions for prisoners, especially those detained in the January 2026 uprising. In addition to the dozens of people who have been executed in connection with the January uprising, more than 100 other political prisoners whose names have been published are currently under death sentences. According to the latest news, the following death sentences have been issued for 12 prisoners related to the case known as the “Alikhani Square of Isfahan”:
Alireza Sepahi, born in 2001, sentenced to execution four times
Abolfazl Sepahi, born in 2003, sentenced to execution three times
Alireza Raeisi, born in 2004, sentenced to execution twice
Ghaem Hosseini, born in 2005, sentenced to execution twice
Gol-Mohammad Mohammadi, born in 2002, Afghan citizen, sentenced to execution twice
Amirhossein Safari, born in 1998, sentenced to execution
Amirhossein Maleki, born in 2006, sentenced to execution
Ali Dashti, born in 2006, sentenced to execution
Amirhossein Ebrahimi Analoujeh, born in 2006, sentenced to execution
Shervin Bagherian, born in 2007, sentenced to execution
Erfan Esfandiari, born in 2007, sentenced to execution
Abolfazl Ebrahimi, born in 2007, sentenced to execution
Three of these political prisoners were children at the time of their arrest, according to the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
In another suppressive and misogynistic move, on Sunday, July 12, 2026, the Evin Prison guard raided the women’s political prisoners’ ward and suppressed women who were protesting the overcrowding of the ward.
According to news received by the campaign, since Monday, July 13, 2026, prisoners in Unit 2 of Qezel Hesar have staged protests and a hunger strike to protest the transfer of 6 of their cellmates to solitary confinement for the execution of their sentences.
It is worth noting that last August, 1,500 prisoners of this unit, during a one-week strike protesting the execution of their cellmates, succeeded in halting the execution of prisoners accused of drug-related offenses in this prison, and prison authorities promised that the executions of these prisoners would be reviewed.
An unequal battle is underway in the prisons; the despotic regime resorts to executions to prevent popular protests and, at the same time, does not back down from foreign war in order to justify domestic suppression.
On the other hand, the prisoners and members of the “No to Execution Tuesdays” campaign have gone on hunger strikes and protested every Tuesday for 129 consecutive weeks against the crimes being daily committed by the ruling regime in prisons, and they have not backed down on this path.
This week, a group of prisoners in Borujen Prison in Chaharmahal Bakhtiari Province also joined the “No to Execution Tuesdays” campaign.
The campaign members warn against the execution of the sentences of Qezel Hesar prisoners and call on everyone to be the voice of the death-row prisoners of the January uprising.
The “No to Execution Tuesdays” campaign is on a hunger strike on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, in its 129th week in the following 58 prisons:
