On the eve of the anniversary of the execution of two political prisoners, Behrouz Ehsani and Mehdi Hasani, resistant prisoners in 59 prisons across the country, by continuing their hunger strike, marked the 131st week of the “No to Execution Tuesdays” campaign. Referring to the shocking statistics of at least 303 executions since the beginning of the Iranian year on March 21, 2026, the members of this campaign demanded an immediate halt to these inhumane sentences and the abolition of the death penalty in Iran. The strikers also declared their full solidarity with the two-week strike of 1,500 prisoners in Unit 2 of Qezel Hesar Prison and called on the international community and human rights organizations to be the loud voice of all those sentenced to death in Iran.

Continuation of the “No to Execution Tuesdays” Campaign in its 131st Week in 59 Different Prisons
The “No to Execution Tuesdays” campaign honors the anniversary of the hanging of Behrouz Ehsani and Mehdi Hasani, two political prisoners and members of the No to Execution campaign. These two political prisoners were transferred for the implementation of their death sentences on July 26, 2025, amid beatings during a prison guard raid on the political prisoners’ ward of Qezel Hesar Prison. Other political prisoners in this ward were also subjected to the most brutal assault, and their families are still unaware of their burial sites.
The plundering Velayat-e Faqih regime, still ignoring the protests against executions, sets up gallows daily and takes the lives of citizens.
In the past week, in addition to dozens of prisoners of common crimes, political prisoner Mehdi Khanaki was also hanged in complete secrecy and without the right to a fair trial.

Furthermore, in the continuation of these crackdowns, the inhumane death sentence has also been issued for political prisoners Issa Chari, Amir-Hassan Akbari-Monfared, Sepehr Amirzadeh, Akbar Arabzadeh, and Mehdi Arabzadeh. The number of executions since March 21, 2026, has reached at least 303 people.
In international reactions to the executions and issued sentences, the UN Fact-Finding Mission has warned in the past week against the death sentences of the prisoners known as the “Alikhani Square” case of Isfahan and called for its halt.
The European Union has also sanctioned 5 judges who were involved in issuing death sentences and other inhumane punishments. The names of these judges are as follows:
Mostafa Narimani, Head of the Third Branch of the Revolutionary Court of Karaj
Abolfazl Ameri Shahrabi, Head of Branch 1191 of the Criminal Court Two of Tehran
Mehdi Rasekhi, Judge of the Third Branch of the Revolutionary Court of Rasht
Mohammad-Reza Amouzad, Head of Branch 28 of the Revolutionary Court of Tehran and Advisory Judge of Branch 15 of the same court
Mohammad-Reza Tavakoli, Head of the First Branch of the Revolutionary Court of Isfahan
In another protest campaign, the strike of 1,500 prisoners in Unit 2 of Ghezel Hesar Prison has been ongoing for two weeks, but the officials of this prison and no other authority in this executioner regime have yet responded to their demands.
The “No to Execution Tuesdays” campaign stands alongside the prisoners of Unit 2, supports their rightful demand and strike, and calls on conscious minds and the international community to be the voice of these prisoners as well as all those sentenced to death.
Hoping for freedom and the establishment of equality for the oppressed and resilient people of Iran.
