A member of the Judicial Commission in Majlis said that the Plan to Amend the Law to Counter Narcotics was reviewed in Majlis with the presence of the Prosecutor General and the officials of other related organizations.
The members of the commission were all in favor that the death sentence should be considered for narcotics traffickers carrying more than 100kg of opium, more than 2kg of crystal meth or marijuana or more than 5kg of other narcotics…
It was also decided that for those who have had previous prison terms of 2-5 years, even if the weight of the discovered narcotics is less than the determined weight, the death sentence would be considered for them, according to the state-run news agency report on July 9, 2017.
