More physicians and nurses have contracted the virus in other Iranian cities. Since the outbreak of the Coronavirus in Iran, the medical staff did not have access to adequate medical equipment.

The medical staff and nurses have become worn out due to work pressure and stress, and lack of medical and sanitary resources. Some of them are no longer able to work.

Mehdi Hosseini-Nejad, head of the Industry and Mines Organization in the Province of Kerman (southern Iran), was cited by IRNA news agency saying that 41 percent of Coronavirus cases in that province were from among the medical staff and personnel, due to shortage of “face masks, alcohol and gloves.”

The general director of the Nursing Organization was also interviewed by IRNA on Monday, March 9. He said, “Shortages of face masks, gloves, and protective garbs for nurses in the hospitals of northern provinces is cause of concern and nurses in those areas are at risk.”

Numerous video clips, published in recent days, show nurses and doctors complaining about shortages of medical equipment and sanitary resources to fight the Coronavirus.

A number of the medical personnel of Amini Hospital in Langrood, Gilan Province, have published posts on their Instagram accounts asking for “urgent help.”

They have also written on their accounts, “If the medical staff continue to serve without adequate and standard protective equipment, soon, no one would certainly remain to take care of the patients in Amini Hospital of Langrood and all the nurses would contract the virus.”

Several nurses in Amini Hospital in Langerud N #Iran have posted "urgent help" messages on Instagram:
