Amirhossein Moradi and Ali Younesi’s Call to Action

November 21, 2024
FacebookTwitterEmail

Amirhossein Moradi and Ali Younesi, along with many prisoners across the country, were on hunger strike on this week in protest of the widespread executions in Iran.
In a statement, they called on students to join the united front against executions.

We truly understand execution when the cellmate who smiled just yesterday is called over the loudspeaker and never returns.
We grasp the gravity of execution when we remember the cries of Mohsen Shekari’s mother and the tears of Mohammad Ghobadlou’s mother.
We feel the weight of execution when the fear of losing the youth of Ekbatan—each of them filled with dreams—brings tears to our eyes.

What have we done in the face of executions? This crime has been repeated at least 650 times since the beginning of this year.
If now is the time for unity, and if we must unite, let us come together on this most human of common grounds and stand against executions.

We call on all students across the country to join the nationwide prisoners in the “No to Executions” strikes every Tuesday and show solidarity in any way they can.

In memory of the November 2019 uprising, Amirhossein Moradi and Ali Younesi.
