The concerning rise in executions in Iran continues, with a wave of executions taking place across various cities. The number of recorded executions in the last 15 days has reached 82, a shocking figure indicating that, on average, nearly six people are executed daily in Iran.

Between May 28 and June 4, 2025, at least eight more prisoners were executed in the prisons of Ghezel Hesar, Urmia, Yasuj, Semnan, and Manoojan:

Yasuj Prison (June 3): Behnam Ghaffari, 31, from Jolfa and father of a child, was executed on drug-related charges.

Manoojan Prison (June 3): Majid Behzadi (Bamari), 38, from Zahakloot, was executed on drug-related charges.

Executions in Isfahan Prison:

At dawn on Tuesday, June 2, 2025, two prisoners, Habib Almasi (35, married, father of two) and Jebreil Hashemzadeh (30), were executed in Isfahan Prison. The two were close relatives (cousins) from Birjand and had been arrested four years earlier in a joint case. They were eventually sentenced to death for murder.

Executions in Ghezel Hesar Prison (Karaj):

On the same day, Sajjad Nabizadeh and Yasin Aghaei were executed in Qezel Hesar Prison, Karaj. Official sources stated the charge was “murder,” but no further details about their legal proceedings were made public.

Execution in Qom Prison:

At dawn on Sunday, June 1, 2025, Shahriar Khalafi was executed in Qom Prison on drug-related charges. He had previously been arrested in connection with these charges and was later sentenced to death.
